Abstract:
Abstract As the focus of statistics shifted from procedures and formulas towards a more data centric perspective emphasizing understanding big ideas, the role of technology became increasingly important. In the context of this shift, this chapter examines how technology can be used to support the understanding of seven fundamental ideas in teaching statistics, ideas developed in an earlier paper. The discussion briefly considers types of technology ranging from that used in the 1970s to innovative technology that seems promising in 2012.
