Abstract: Abstract There are so many books and papers on principles, standards, recommendations and research results with respect to project management that one could fill entire libraries with it. Therefore, a key question must be answered at the beginning: Why yet an additional contribution to project management? In this introductory chapter, three answers to this question are provided and the structure to deliver said answers is presented.
