Chapter 5 in Economic Policy of the People's Republic of China, 2023, pp 47-62 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract China’s enormous economic growth raises the question of whether there is a theory or model for it. First, the current economic goals are presented and their implementation. Then, the discussion about the China model is analysed from a Chinese and a Western perspective. The question of transferability and Chinese state capitalism are seen as obstacles to the adoption of a model. Furthermore, the China model is compared with the East Asian and Singaporean models.
