Chapter Chapter 5 in BIM in Real Estate Operations, 2023, pp 129-146 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The focus of this chapter is the data that is necessary for the application of BIM methodology in real estate and facility management (FM) operations. The basics of data management are introduced. For example, it is discussed which type of data are needed. 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry are also suitable for data capturing of existing buildings. For further processing and exchange of BIM data, various formats and methods have been developed. These and their use are also described.
