Chapter 4 in Successfully Managing Complex Companies, 2023, pp 27-37 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Chapter 4 deals with the core task of defining the values and objectives of the company. This creates the normative basis of management. Four categories of normative statements are distinguished and described: (1) mission and vision, (2) values, (3) corporate objectives, and (4) rules of conduct. This is followed by a brief look at the relationship between normative statements and corporate culture. It concludes with the responsibilities of the supervisory and executive boards in relation to the definition of values and objectives.
