Chapter Chapter 4 in Organizational Design in a Complex and Unstable World, 2024, pp 51-70 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Modern organizational concepts are currently being discussed intensively in theory and practice. Many organizations are trying to implement the rediscovered lack of hierarchy to better achieve their organizational goals. These modern organizational concepts usually include flat hierarchies, self-organization in teams, participation and agility (Wimmer, K. (2021). Holacracy. Die Hierarchie der Kreise. Ein Organisationsmodell ohne Chefs? Zur Architektur einer agilen Organisationsform. https://www.wimmer-partner.at/pdf.dateien/holacracy.pdf . Accessed: 15.03.2023.). Some of these concepts have been used so successfully in practice that it seems worthwhile to present them in more detail.
