Abstract Even ancient cultures such as the Egyptians, Greeks, or Romans in antiquity pondered the world, the interrelationships within it, and the workings of systems, researching how everything in the cosmos, in nature, and in society functions and what laws apply when and where. They engaged in fundamental logical thinking, sought explanations, and formulated numerous conclusions and theories.
