Abstract: Zusammenfassung Daß π, die Zahl, die den Inhalt des Kreises vom Radius 1 mißt, ungefähr 22/7, daß √2 nahebei 7/5 ist, spielte schon bei den Alten eine Rolle. Was ist eigentlich der klare, mathematische Sinn derartiger Aussagen? Was ist der Sinn der Worte „ungefähr“, „nahebei“, die eigentlich nicht in das Lexikon des präzisen Mathematikers gehören?
