Abstract:
Abstrait La topologie du continu chez Leibniz se distingue grandement de la topologie du continu de l’analyse non standard et de la théorie de Cantor-Dedekind. On ne peut bien saisir la théorie du continu chez Leibniz que si l’on se libère de la façon de penser et des évidences de ces théories. Commençons par le principe de continuité auquel Leibniz attribue un rôle fondamental dans les mathématiques et dans les sciences: si une différence dans les données peut être arbitrairement réduite, alors il en va de même pour les différences qui en sont dépendantes dans le recherché (GM VI, 129).
