Floating Glaciers

Peter Halfar

Chapter 11 in Stresses in glaciers, 2022, pp 109-130 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter describes glaciers in local floating equilibrium with the general solution of balance and boundary conditions. It describes icebergs with their boundary stresses known on the entire boundary as well as the resulting properties. And it finally describes horizontally isotropic-homogeneous, infinitely extended table iceberg models with the mathematically exact, unique solutions of all relevant conditions.
