Calculation of Special Weightless Stress Tensor Fields

Chapter 16 in Stresses in glaciers, 2022, pp 159-165 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract A “weightless stress tensor field” is presented which generates predetermined boundary stresses. In case the boundary surface on which these boundary stresses are given is not simply connected, another “weightless stress tensor field” is presented, which generates the forces and torques on the continuous boundary surfaces on which no boundary stresses are given, which appear as parameters in the general solution. The superposition of these two stress tensor fields generates both these forces and torques and the specified boundary stresses.
