Abstract: Zusammenfassung Gerhard Arminger (*Salzburg 1949) hat in Linz und Wien Soziologie studiert. Promotion zum Thema „Loglineare Modelle zur Analyse nominal skalierter Variabler“. Von 1978 bis zu seiner Emeritierung 2014 war Gerhard Arminger ordentlicher Professor für Wirtschaftsstatistik an der Universität Wuppertal; verschiedene auswärtige Rufe, etwa an die University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA), die University of Arizona in Tucson, die University of Indiana in Bloomington, die Universität Wien und die London School of Economics (LSE) hat er abgelehnt. Heute lebt er in Kreuzlingen in der Schweiz.
