A chapter in Zukunftsgestalter Deutschlands, 2025, pp 263-282 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter offers insights from prefigurative practitioners who are already building new forms of collaboration spaces. As defined by Yates (2015), “prefigurative” people or communities provide views that “anticipate and/or enact some features of an alternative future in the present world”. The practitioners profiled here are already shaping the future in their current lifework, enabling the co-creation of the inclusive, non-discriminatory, vibrant and dynamic spaces they envision. The intention in this chapter is to uncover how their approaches might inform the future of our own lifespaces and workplaces. Using the lens of BANI we capture how some practitioners are responding to the present-day challenges.
