Abstract: Zusammenfassung Die erste Periode in der geschichtlichen Entwicklung der Theorie der elliptischen Funktionen kann man von den Anfängen bis zum Erscheinen von A. M. Legendres „Traité des fonctions elliptiques“ (Paris, 1825–28) rechnen. Charakteristisch für diese Periode ist, daß die Betrachtung der Integrale wesentlich vorherrscht.
