Chapter Chapter 2 in Smooth Manifolds, 2014, pp 31-124 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Above dimension three, Euclidean space loses its quality of being visible. So, in order to investigate higher-dimensional smooth manifolds, we need to generalize the concept of tangent line in the case of curves in two-dimensional Euclidean space, and tangent plane in the case of surfaces in three-dimensional Euclidean space, using abstract tools of algebra, and analysis.
