Chapter 10 in The Linear Algebra a Beginning Graduate Student Ought to Know, 2012, pp 189-220 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Direct and iterative methods for solution of systems of linear equations are studied, including the Gaussian elimination, Jacobi iteration, and Gauss–Seidel iteration. Overrelaxation methods are described. Numerical considerations are introduced, including condition numbers.
