Abstract: Abstract The bifurcation approach to fundamental problems in (bio)-chemistry and biology is relatively new. Although O. Gurel’s statement at the Eight FEBS MEETING in Amsterdam in 1972 that bifurcation theory had not been implemented in the literature should be corrected1) he was quite right in his remark that there did not exist a complete bifurcation analysis of dynamic systems at the molecular level. Even now such a theory still has to be developed; moreover it must be concluded that bifurcation, or peeling, or branching theory has up till now only slightly affected (bio)chemistry and biology2).
