Chapter Chapter 7 in From Markov Jump Processes to Spatial Queues, 2003, pp 91-105 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The recent rise of mobile communication systems gave reason to the development of queueing models which are capable of incorporating spatial features. Introducing spatial arrival processes is of great help for modelling mobile communication networks, since users of such networks can be characterized more adequately by properties depending on their position. To this end, the concept of a time-space process is needed, which is able to describe the time dynamics of arrivals as well as their distribution in space.
