Abstract: Abstract Few forces shape economic trajectories as powerfully as entrepreneurship. Governments everywhere have caught on, building ecosystems that nurture startups, attract capital, and turn ideas into jobs. India’s own startup scene has changed almost beyond recognition over the past decade, moving from a patchwork of city-specific clusters to a genuinely competitive innovation hub on the world stage. Today, India ranks among the top three countries globally for startup activity, with over 200,000 DPIIT-recognized startups and nearly 125 unicorns as of 2025 (Press Information Bureau, 2025; Economic Survey, 2026). This shift has been driven by supportive regulations, widespread internet access, and a growing culture of risk-taking and innovation.
