Abstract: Abstract Kamalākara was a great astronomer and mathematician of India and was a senior contemporary of the famous Newton in Europe. He belonged to a family of jyotiṣīs and was the second son of Nṛsimha who wrote a commentary called Saurabhāṣya on the Sūrya-siddhānta in ad 1611.
