Chapter Chapter 1 in Reshaping the Economic Cooperation Pattern of the Belt and Road Initiative, 2021, pp 1-31 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Promoting the Belt and Road Initiative breaks new ground in opening China further through links running eastward and westward, across land and over sea, strengthens the mutually beneficial cooperation with partner countries, and provides a lasting impetus for China’s regional healthy economic development. Taking economic cooperation as the priority and breakthrough for the Belt and Road Initiative enables countries to share their cooperation results, consolidate and expand their cooperation consensus, and then lead to the long-term sustainable construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. At present, many problems have emerged in the policy environment regarding economic cooperation between China and other countries. The further improvement of the policy systems for the Belt and Road Initiative economic cooperation should focus on improving bilateral and regional multilateral cooperation mechanisms, promoting the reform of outward foreign investment and economic cooperation administrative systems, enhancing the facilitation and liberalization of trade and investment, advancing cross-border financial and producer services, and enhancing overseas industrial cooperation platforms.
