Abstract:
Abstract The high penetration of new generation of information technologies is transforming the traditional energy system into a smart and interconnected energy system. In the smart energy or Energy Internet environment, the demand for innovative energy services is increasing. Various data-driven smart energy management methods and tools play critical roles in achieving energy service innovation. This chapter provides an overview of the current research and lays a foundation for the following chapters. It first introduces the research background of smart energy management. Then, it presents the smart energy management framework, energy big data driven applications and business and service model innovation. It also presents a relatively comprehensive literature review, in terms of smart energy system management, load characteristic recognition and Demand Response. Finally, the scope of the book is briefly introduced.
