A chapter in The Platform Economy, 2022, pp 271-282 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The article analyzes approaches taken by the leading countries that determine the policy priorities of sector-specific regulation of the formation and development of technological platforms, approached as part of the digital economy. The evolution of the USA, China, the EU, and the Russian Federation policies of the platform economy regulation indicates their experience in digitalization and their difficulties in creating a unified regulatory framework for the further development of ecosystems operating in national and global markets. The article presents the economic content of the concept of sector-specific regulation for the platform economy and gives proposals for its development. The results of the study of the problems of sector-specific regulation for the platform economy contribute to the development of the Russian scientific doctrine of digital platforms and ecosystems, which makes it possible to develop the policy of digital transformation of the economy in Russia, as well as to lay the foundation for the formation of a supranational policy, which will make it possible to actively develop the platform economy in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and around the world.
