Chapter Chapter 4 in Sustainability Analytics Toolkit for Practitioners, 2023, pp 59-74 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter explores some of the tools that can be used to aid in making complex sustainability decisions. Often, there are many factors that are involved. The tools explored here such as cost–benefit analysis, risk and opportunity, multicriteria decision making and big data analytics are often used to guide the decision making process. There are also discussions on the accuracy of the deterministic approaches of some of these tools and whether uncertainty needs to be accounted for in sustainability measurements. This chapter also explores this question by showcasing an experimental study.
