Abstract: Abstract In this paper, for obtaining accurate solutions of the fifth-order KdV equation with initial condition, a new modification of Laplace–Adomian decomposition method is proposed. To see the accuracy of the proposed method, L 2 and $L_{\infty}$ error norms are calculated in test problems. The numerical results are found to be in a good agreement with exact solutions and with the literature.
