Abstract: Abstract The term “sustainable development” was first defined in the final report of the World Commission on Environment and Development (WCED) on the environment and development in 1987, “Our Common Future.” In this document, the following definition was provided: “Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” Since then, this definition has become the most authoritative definition of the term.
