Chapter Chapter 1 in Intelligent Logistics Management in Digital Economy, 2025, pp 1-19 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract With the rapid development of the digital economy and emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, big data, global positioning system (GPS), and digital platforms, logistics systems are undergoing a profound transformation towards higher levels of intelligence, efficiency, and automation. These technologies enable real-time data collection, advanced analytics, and smart decision-making across logistics operations. This book provides a comprehensive and systematic study on the intelligent logistics management in the context of the digital economy, combining theoretical frameworks with practical applications. To motivate the content and structure of the book, Chap. 1 begins by introducing the background and development of the digital economy and its core technologies in Sect. 1.1. Section 1.2 discusses traditional logistics management, while Sect. 1.3 explores how digital technologies reshape logistics activities and contribute to intelligent logistics systems. Finally, Sect. 1.4 presents the organization of the book and outlines the content and focus of the subsequent chapters to provide readers with a clear roadmap.
