Chapter Chapter 5 in Cooperatives and the Market Economy, 2025, pp 71-88 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The previous chapter explained how cooperative firms can avoid market failure that occurs in the market for goods and services and have efficiency advantages over capitalist firms. This chapter and the next deal with two major causes of market failure—market power and asymmetric information—and examine their implications for an efficient form of enterprise. This chapter addresses market power.
