Chapter Chapter 34 in The Palgrave Handbook of Breakthrough Technologies in Contemporary Organisations, 2025, pp 445-461 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter provides an extensive review of the primary themes related to FinTech, tracing their evolution since the 2008 financial crisis. FinTech signifies a transformative shift, enabling finance to reach its full potential, thereby offering a sustainable, ethical, and alternative financial system to the global community. This chapter identifies and systematically investigates the literature on FinTech-driven innovative financial services, examining the extent of these innovations, and the implications and challenges for the finance sector. Key areas of focus include the impact of technological advancements, regulatory frameworks, and consumer behaviour on the growth and development of FinTech products and services. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing studies, we aim to highlight the critical contributions to the FinTech literature and outline future research directions in this rapidly evolving field.
