Chapter Chapter 2 in Researching and Working on the Arabian Peninsula, 2025, pp 27-75 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter is an annotated bibliography of texts from the fields of anthropology, history, literature, political science, and travel writing which relate to the Arabian Peninsula. The books and articles are arranged by topic and country for researchers interested to see what kinds of work have been done and for readers looking for more in-depth information. There are also short essays on the importance of changing your ideas and acknowledging when you are wrong while doing research, as well as how to pick a fieldsite. Next the chapter gives a selected bibliography of texts pertaining to specific Arabian Peninsula counties. This is followed by short lists of texts pertaining to reoccurring themes in Arabian Peninsula research: Islam, Partner studies, Labor/Migration, Politics/Power, Social life/Family, Survive/Thrive, Tribes, and Woman.
