Chapter Chapter 10 in Financial Innovation and Paths of Cooperation of City Clusters, 2025, pp 151-174 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The economic development of Zhuhai-Macao city cluster and the cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries provide a solid market foundation for financial leasing, which is expected to generate more than 20 billion yuan of market value each year and even more than 100 billion yuan in view of the economic development of the entire Greater Bay Area. In addition, although Macao’s financial leasing industry is in its infancy, it has built a relatively sound legal system. In the future, we can consider first focusing on the Zhuhai-Macao city cluster and the cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and then boosting the development of the entire Greater Bay Area to promote the expansion of financial leasing business. Effectively promote the rapid development and growth of the industry to become an important pillar of Macao’s special financial services through cross-border joint leasing, cross-border sub-leasing, leasing for cooperation projects between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, innovative real estate leasing, etc.
