Chapter Chapter 7 in Women's Economic Empowerment and Wellbeing, 2025, pp 111-118 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter brings together the diverse stories of women that have been highlighted throughout the book. It showcases the resilience and strength of women in different roles. As the shift in traditional gender roles begins to evolve, this chapter emphasizes on the increased participation of women as primary breadwinners and caregivers. It explores the struggles women face against societal expectations. The chapter also addresses critical issues such as domestic violence, challenges faced by single mothers, and the pressures of single women in caregiving roles. By advocating for supportive policies and societal change, this chapter calls for a collective effort to empower women so as to ensure that their contributions are recognized and valued. The overarching theme of this book is the need for governments, the society at large, organizations and working industries to provide more support for women as a way to foster a more equitable and thriving society where women contributions cannot be ignored.
