Chapter Chapter 2 in Facilitating Digital Trade in ASEAN and East Asia, 2025, pp 21-42 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter shows the unsynchronised process of rule setting on digital trade could portend the imminent danger of digital protectionism. In this regard, it proposes joint efforts from the WTO E-commerce Joint Statement Initiative, regional/plurilateral trade agreements, and regulatory collaboration, as well as a soft law approach and standards and efforts for harmonisation and bridging mechanisms.
