Abstract ChineseChinese oiloil companies first disembarked in BrazilBrazil as serviceservice contractcontractors and then years later began to invest in the country. They progressively started to grab opportunities that emerged with the continuous expansion of the local oil sector. During the 2010s, the BrazilianBrazilian economic crisiscrisis and corruptioncorruption investigations in the oil industryindustry also offered a chance to some Chinese service providers to land in Brazil, since some native firms restrained their operations.
