Chapter Chapter 4 in The Chinese Origin of Physiocracy, 2025, pp 79-125 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract We have discussed above the vogue for China in Europe, the background to the emergence of PhysiocracyPhysiocracy, and the PhysiocratsPhysiocrat’ admiration of Chinese culture. In the following chapters, we will focus on all the major theoretical points that possibly link the economic theories of the PhysiocratsPhysiocrat with ancient Chinese thought. Examined in this chapter is the origin of the doctrine of natural orderNatural order, that is, the philosophical foundation of PhysiocracyPhysiocracy, in terms of the Physiocratic concept of natural orderNatural order itself, its origin in European traditional ideas of natural lawsNatural law, and the influence from ancient Chinese doctrines.
