Chapter Chapter 3 in Neoliberal Transformation of Electricity, 2023, pp 43-65 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter analyses evolution of the energy structure. It opens by examining the concept of structural power with an emphasis on the energy structure, identifies drivers of change in it and closes by analysing changes in the finance and knowledge structures by incorporating effects of change in these structures to the energy structure. Thus, the ground will be ready for deeper theoretical and practical analyses about the Turkish case, and for comparing and contrasting it with the other examples, to see structural patterns. The main question answered in this chapter is ‘how does the structural power concept relate to the energy structure?’.
