Chapter Chapter 7 in Subregional International Economic Integration, 2023, pp 155-181 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The GMS is currently the most active mechanism for international regional economic cooperation in East Asia. Since the launch of the GMS program in 1992, the efforts of member countries have replaced external driving forces in the cooperation mechanism. Cooperation has also reached a higher level of pragmatic approach. Government leaders meet regularly to sign cooperation documents, which are then implemented by relevant departments of member countries.
