Abstract:
Abstract In the early modern period, China initially held a slight advantage in the technology of tube-launched firearms. However, this advantage took a turn after advancements in firearms technology in sixteenth-century Europe. The dissemination of advanced firearms technology accompanied early economic globalization, leading to early military globalization. It wasn’t until the mid-seventeenth century that China remained on par with Western Europe as the two major regions with the most significant progress in firearms technology, also serving as the primary sources for other parts of the world to acquire advanced firearms technology.
