Abstract: Abstract In 1994, William Newman, the then president of the American Management Association and the winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the American Management Association, suggested at the Dynamic Integration Strategy Seminar in Chengde, China, that China needs to develop world-class enterprises in light industry. At that time, he argued that: first China is a market with the largest scale and growth potential in the world.
