Laying the Foundation
George Watt
Chapter Chapter 10 in The Lean Entrepreneurship Playbook, 2024, pp 319-375 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract You’re ready! You’ve set goals, determined the specific needs and nuances of the organization, finalized and fine-tuned your initiative’s initial design, finalized or updated your objectives, and set an initial plan for communicating and keeping things on track. Now you are ready to lay a foundation for your initiative. This chapter discusses how to leverage all the groundwork covered in Part 3 as you begin bringing others into the initiative and prepare for its launch. It describes each team you will require and their roles, provides tips for selecting people for those roles, and discusses how you can, and should, start small and evolve. It also discusses the dynamics of teams as they evolve, and how each of the teams interacts with, and supports, the others. It concludes with a discussion of what you will need to consider as you prepare a budget for your initiative, if one is necessary.
