Chapter Chapter 6 in Effective Remote Teams, 2025, pp 99-136 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Processes are integral to software development, but not everyone enjoys them. Waiting for continuous integration (CI) to pass before deploying a hotfix to production can test our patience, especially when production is offline. It’s tempting to skip steps for special situations, but this slippery slope can lead to mistakes. Sometimes, subverting our process might be necessary, but we want this to be an exception rather than a regular occurrence.
