Chapter Chapter 2 in Modeling Economic Instability, 2022, pp 9-32 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter traces Tinbergen’s steps through his early papers from the late 1920s to the early 1930s, when he developed various tools that he adapted with the aim to provide an explanation for the dynamics of the whole economy. In publishing numerous papers in Dutch, French and German, Tinbergen managed to interact with various groups of researchers, giving his work an important collective dimension. This should not hide his originality, which manifested through the development of new tools, allowing him to say something new about economic fluctuationsFluctuations.
