Abstract: Abstract Assessing and addressing the current global challenges in isolation is insufficient for managing their inherent complexity. It is vital to recognize the interconnected nature of these issues, aiming to minimize trade-offs while maximizing synergies and co-benefits through coordinated, cross-sectoral actions within a nexus framework. This article showcases real-world examples of making large cities sustainable. It illustrates how coordinated and collaborative efforts can effectively tackle global issues at a local level, and it presents case study results from Brazil, Bangladesh, and South Africa.
