Abstract: Abstract The increasing frequency and severity of wildfires in many regions of the planet has not only resulted in ecological destruction and loss of biodiversity but also led to adverse impacts on human health and caused significant disruptions in the socio-economic status of communities worldwide. Wildfire management involves a multidisciplinary approach integrating ecological, societal, and policy considerations. With the rising threat of wildfires attributed to climate change and anthropogenic impacts, there is a growing demand for proactive and adaptable fire management strategies for prevention, early detection, intervention, and post-fire recovery efforts. The United Nations University (UNU), through the development of the Sustainability Nexus Analytics, Informatics, and Data (AID) Programme, attempts to facilitate the implementation of the nexus approach to integrated resource management and sustainable development. As part of the AID programme, the Wildfire Module has been specifically designed to facilitate the coordination of science-policy efforts in sharing knowledge, resources, and innovative approaches and tools that can help stakeholders monitor, project and mitigate the adverse effects of wildfires, improve public safety and preparedness, extend sustainable landscapes, and preserve biodiversity.
