A chapter in Postal Strategies in a Digital and Green Transition, 2026, pp 165-177 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The postal sector—and its parcel segment—like other sectors, experienced a two-fold strong impact in recent years from: the Covid pandemic and a turbulent period of rising inflation afterward. The impact of this period of rising inflation on consumer spending and finally the parcel segment is still mostly insufficiently examined and, therefore, deserves attention. This chapter focuses on the Belgian context but also looks at the situation from a European perspective.
