Strategies of Russian companies at the different stages of organizational life-cycle: The attempt of empirical analysis

Abstract:
The paper looks into specifics of strategies at different stages of organizational life cycle (OLC). Different research considering the relationship between strategic choice and organizational life cycle were analyzed. The results are presented of an empirical study on the life cycles of Russian companies performed from May 2005 through March 2006 in St. Petersburg. The main research objective was to study the specifics of the life cycles forming process in Russian companies of different backgrounds, i.e. created "from scratch", privatized or established through foreign investments. One of the researchers' tasks was to identify which strategies were used by Russian companies at various stages of their OLCs.
