Abstract:
The Belgian municipalities of the Walloon Region were under strain during the Covid-19 pandemic. This article studies how their budgetary exercise was affected during the year 2020 through a survey that was sent to each of the 262 municipalities in Wallonia. This questionnaire, in this article will determine whether or not the budgetary and financial impacts have been significant, taking into account the demographic size of the municipalities as well as their location. We will also have the opportunity to describe the challenges they have had to meet and will have to meet from a financial, federal and organizational perspective. Â
