Viability of community-based enterprises in community development: An empirical study

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the viability of CBE on community development and to comprehend the tangibility of its socioeconomic impact upon the community-based enterprises on empirical evidence. The study is empirical in nature and is conducted in various districts of Odisha, India based on a questionnaire method of survey of sample clients of prominent enterprises. We developed 10 hypotheses after a meticulous review of extant literature and previous empirical studies which have been tested using structural equation modelling. The results indicate that CBEs have a positive and significant socioeconomic impact on communities. The socioeconomic impact positively and significantly affects community development.
