Abstract:
An equivalent circuit analysis has been proposed for co-axial reentrant cavities which have been used extensively in Multiple-beam Klystron (MBK). Formulation for the equivalent capacitance and inductance of coaxial reentrant cavities (single and double reentrant cavity) have been obtained and used for the calculation of cavity parameters, i.e. resonant frequency and characteristic shunt impedance. The unloaded quality factor of the cavities has been obtained using Wheeler’s incremental inductance rule. Simulations of coaxial reentrant cavities have been carried out using CST studio and simulation results have been compared with the results obtained from the proposed analysis. A good agreement between the results has been obtained.
