Abstract:
This article presents a unique G-shaped multiband four-port multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for wireless fidelity, Bluetooth, industrial, scientific, and medical band, 5G wireless, and X-band applications. A long I-shaped strip is used to reduce coupling effect among patch elements. The overall electrical dimension for the proposed antenna is $ 0.46 \lambda _{0} \times 0.42\lambda _{0} \times 0.011 \lambda _{0} $ 0.46λ0×0.42λ0×0.011λ0. Here, $ \lambda _{0} $ λ0 is free space wavelength at lower resonating frequency of 2.1 GHz. The antenna resonates at 3 frequencies. The peak values of reflection coefficient obtained are −30 dB, −20 dB, and −15 dB for 2.1 GHz, 3.8 GHz, and 9.1 GHz respectively. The covering −10 dB impedance bandwidths of the suggested work are 1.74 GHz to 2.40 GHz, 3.38 GHz to 6.3 GHz, 8.78 GHz to 9.32 GHz. The proposed design provides good isolation of $ {>}\!30 $ >30 dB. Different MIMO diversity parameters are discussed for the proposed antenna.
